The equipment of the SUV has been more noticeably updated. In all Pajero Wagon trim levels, with the exception of the base one, the audio system is equipped with a USB port, and the Instyle version has a rear-view camera, the image from which is displayed on the interior rear-view mirror. In addition, the revised 5-speed INVECS-II automatic transmission in the restyled Pajero is equipped with Optimum Shift Control, and the engines are equipped with electronics that, if the accelerator and brake pedals are pressed simultaneously, give priority to the latter.

Under the hood of the Pajero Wagon, one of three engines can be installed – a 3-liter gasoline V6 (178 hp, 261 Nm), a 3.8-liter unit of the same architecture (250 hp, 329 Nm), as well as 4-cylinder 200-horsepower 3.2-liter turbodiesel.

In some markets, Pajero is also known as Montero and Shogun. The SUV is produced at the Mitsubishi plant in Sakahogi, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
