2003 Mitsubishi Galant Owner's Manual

The INVECS-II electronic unit is equipped with two control algorithms. The Optimum Shift Control algorithm “Optimum gear selection” always selects the ideal gear and the moment of its engagement in all driving modes and for all road conditions. The “Adaptive Selection Algorithm” takes into account the individual style and driving habits of each driver and adjusts the shift points accordingly.
Using the Adaptive Shift Control (Adaptive Gear Selection Algorithm), the electronic control unit analyzes the habits and preferences of the driver and adapts the moment of shifting “gear” to the individual driving style. In this way, the INVECS-II automatic transmission can adapt to the individual driving styles of different people, providing a smooth ride and the best match to their character and mood.
Independent suspensions of all wheels of the Mitsubishi Galant well combine such important characteristics as high comfort and excellent directional stability. It is characterized by excellent damping of bumps and a smooth ride while maintaining full control over the car. For Mitsubishi Galant for Canada, a suspension with an increased ground clearance of up to 165 mm (ground clearance) is used. The characteristics of the suspension were also adapted to Canada roads in order to improve driving performance and reduce internal noise and vibrations. The contact area of the front anti-roll bar is coated with TeflonT to reduce friction. Thanks to this, the stabilizer reacts more quickly and smoothly to changes in suspension geometry, improving stability when cornering.
