Mitsubishi Outlander is a K2 class SUV with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The world premiere of the third generation of the model took place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.

Mitsubishi designers tried to surprise fans of the brand by seriously changing the exterior of the Outlander. Indeed, it is very different from its predecessor. Moreover, not only externally, but also internally. This applies to finishing materials, and ergonomics, and overall space. And this despite the fact that the size of the “SUV” has not changed. Its length is 4655 mm, width 1800 mm, and height 1680 mm. The wheelbase remained exactly the same (2670 mm).

There is no fundamental difference in the possibility of transforming the interior in the new generation of crossover. It can be both 5-seater and 7-seater, but there is more space for cargo transportation. If the second and third rows of seats are folded down, it will be possible to carry luggage 1.69 meters long, which is 335 mm more than the second generation Outlander allowed.

As for equipment, in the third generation of Mitsubishi Outlander you can find adaptive cruise control, a system that follows cars moving in front, which is especially useful in dense city traffic (if an emergency distance is detected, the electronics will give the driver an audible signal, and if he does not respond to it, the car will forcibly slow down to a complete stop), a lane keeping system, as well as powerful WildeVision xenon headlights.

In UK, Mitsubishi Outlander is offered with two gasoline engines of the MIVEC family of 2.0 and 2.4 liters. The first produces 150 liters. With. power, the second – 170 “horses”. In Europe, Mitsubishi’s own diesel unit is also available. It is a 2.2-liter 4N14 engine with a compression ratio of 14.9:1, which is very low for a diesel, and, according to the manufacturer, is very economical and environmentally friendly. Diesel should emit no more than 130 g/km of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Outlander has two types of drive, as before – front and plug-in full. Depending on the market, engine and equipment, the new Outlander can be equipped with an Auto Stop & Go function. Gasoline engines can work with a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT, and the diesel has a choice of 6-speed “mechanics” and a 6-band automatic transmission.
