The 2022 Mitsubishi RVR/ASX is a “K1” class crossover with front or all-wheel drive. The fourth generation of the model. The online premiere for the European market took place on September 22, 2022. Start of sales in Europe – March 2023.
The ASX, also known as the RVR or Outlander Sport in some markets, is a compact SUV and the flagship model of Mitsubishi Motors, which was first introduced in Europe in 2010. The new ASX is based on the CMF-B platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and was specially developed for the European market. It will be produced at the Renault plant in Valladolid, Spain.
The car has an elegant design, its silhouette combines smoothness and dynamism, which emphasizes its maneuverability. The front end features the Mitsubishi Motors Dynamic Shield design concept with a robust grille that displays the iconic three-diamond logo.
Depending on the configuration, the interior of the new Mitsubishi ASX can be covered with fabric, imitation leather, or genuine leather.
The novelty is equipped with analog instruments with a diagonal of 4.2 inches, 7 inches, or 10.25 inches. The size of the infotainment touchscreen also varies by 9.3 inches in portrait mode or 7.8 inches in the landscape. Top equipment is available with Bose speakers. The smartphone-connected audio system (SDA) is located in the center of the dashboard, and the Multi-Sense system, controlled via SDA, allows the driver to choose the driving mode that best suits his preferences.
The car is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as the MI-PILOT single-lane driver assistance technology, which integrates Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist (LCA) to support safe driving.
The new generation ASX offers a wide selection of power units that meet the modern needs of the European market. Leading the line is a hybrid model (PHEV) with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors (generator-starter and main motor), an automatic multi-mode transmission, and a 10.5 kWh battery.
The fully hybrid model (HEV) consists of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, an automatic multi-mode transmission, and a 1.3 kWh battery.
The mild hybrid model combines a 1.3-liter direct-injection turbo engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (7DCT), while the entry-level model is available with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine with 91 k.s. with turbocharging and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
