Mitsubishi announced the debut of the new Colt
Mitsubishi announced the revived Colt a year ago when it announced that the compact hatchback would go on sale in Europe in 2023. The new teaser, published the other day, is accompanied by news about the exact date of the presentation – June 8. And in it, we can even see a small fragment of the back, which looks quite familiar.
The new Mitsubishi Colt will be based on the same platform as the latest Renault Clio. They are expected to be almost identical except for the different front and rear parts. In this way, companies reduce costs for the development and production of new models.
The new Clio in the Japanese hatchback betrays the rear wings, the doors the location of the handles, the angle of the front windshield, the roof line, and almost everything else. On the inside, there may be a slightly different instrument panel, a new center console, and a steering wheel with diamonds instead of a rhombus.
Previously, Mitsubishi reported that the new Colt will be produced with a hybrid power plant. Most likely, it will be similar to the Clio E-Tech, which uses a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor that acts as a starter generator.
